39th Ward Democratic Organization endorses Ram Villivalam for State Senate

Chicago (Mayfair) - Today, Democratic Candidate for State Senate Ram Villivalam (IL-8) announced the endorsement of the 39th Ward Democratic Organization.

“Ram Villivalam will bring accessible, proactive, and participatory governance back to our community. He will help make our State government more responsive and accessible to our community because he shares our commitment to participatory democracy. That is why our organization is proud to endorse Ram for the Illinois State Senate," said 39th Ward Democratic Committeeman Robert Murphy. "Our organization conducted the first-ever open endorsement process in the 39th Ward and found Ram to be most qualified, the most committed to progressive policies, and the most committed to engage with the community. For the last 20 years, our state senator has done the bare minimum. We deserve an effective, ethical, and progressive leader in Springfield. Ram’s experience at the federal level providing constituent services and as an advocate at the state level fighting to protect home care for seniors, child care for working families, and medicaid for those in need make Ram the only candidate who can amplify the voice of our community and get things done on day one."

“I am honored to have received the endorsement of the 39th Ward Democratic Organization,” said Democratic candidate for State Senate Ram Villivalam. “Our community needs an outspoken voice in Springfield, someone who will lead on the challenging issues we face such as equitable education funding, gun violence prevention and community safety, and economic development. I look forward to being that voice, and as State Senator, I look forward to working closely with progressive leaders like Committeeman Murphy and community groups like the 39th Ward Democratic Organization, to provide the ethical and transparent representation our residents deserve."

Nearly 72% of 39th Ward registered voters are encompassed in the 8th State Senate district. The Organization endorses candidates who prioritize community interaction and engagement.

Ram Villivalam has also been endorsed by the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune, U.S Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky, U.S. Congressman Brad Schneider, U.S. Congressman Mike Quigley, U.S. Congressman Danny K. Davis, U.S. Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi, Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, Fmr.
